Lazy Days & Playdates

sepia-couch-potatos.jpg  It has been soooo Hot & Muggy here – even Garrison, who loves the heat, mentioned that he was uncomfortably warm.  His exact words were something like “Arrggh, it’s SO bleedin’ HOT!  Aren’t there ANY windows open, matey???” (Ok, maybe without so much, er,  pirate).  I hope this isn’t a sign of what kind of summer weather we have in store.  Yesterday Edison’s happy go lucky personality wilted by about 5:30 p.m. and he said “Mom, I’m so hot I feel like I am going to be SICK”  so we decided to turn the bathtub into a “swimming pool” (he would only get in the tub if he was able to wear his bathing suit & he made me promise to not wash his hair!)  We’re talking about getting our swimming pool functional for this summer again (we’re hit and miss on this issue — some summers it just doesn’t happen)  I’m rooting for it this year so that I don’t need to go into public in a bathing suit.  Truly not nice for anyone involved.   Our neighbor’s swimming pool is already going strong for the season & Edison longingly watches their kids jump off of their trampoline into their pool.  I’m waiting to see if the goat gets into the action…sploosh

Claudia had a “playdate” yesterday with her friend Evie.  Neither one was awake at the same time until Beth woke Evie up to take her home and we posed them for their photo shoot.  🙂  We moms had a great time together though – trying to catch up on some scrapbooking (Beth was focused, I was slightly overwhelmed).  I am working on Edison’s scrapbook & I am almost up to him at 5 months old…It is a very strange thing to try to put together his baby album -especially since Claudia is now that age.  I have a L-O-N-G way to go.   Focus. Kristin, Focus!

The girls looking like they were just told something shocking.  “What?”  “Heavens to Betsy!”
